You gotta love the dumb rule that you have to be a division winner to get a bye. If two of the best teams of all time played in the same division and both had 15-1 records, one of them would be playing during wild card weekend. Magical. For the Patriots this year at least. That statement might come back to haunt me someday, but not this year. Here’s what we’re looking at now.
So Kansas City and the Chargers are interchangeable. The loser grabs a 5 seed. Would love to see the Chargers grab that top spot. Arrowhead is a top 5 worst place to go and play for the Patriots or any team. I’d give you a “top 7 toughest stadiums to play in if you’re an opposing team!” but this website isn’t Buzzfeed.
So we need the Texans to lose one game and the Pats need to win out. I tried to figure out why we owned that tie breaker if we didn’t play the Texans this year, then I remembered we actually did in week 1 and I was actually in attendance. Should probably pump the brakes at the next tailgate.
So we’re counting on the Eagles who are flying high (pun one hundred thousand percent intended) after their big dubya against the Rams. Chances of the Eagles making the playoffs are slim because they need the Cowboys to lose out and Philly needs to lose out. But they’ll be coming swinging with big diack Niack under center. That’s what we need.
And that’s the whole blog. A few paragraphs is all it takes guys. This is what needs to happen. Go to bed now.
