Mike’s the Hook hockey guy, probably will be posting some WWE shit, some Marvel shit. He’s a jack of all trades.
And we’re off!!! With only 5 days remaining until the trade deadline, Sweeney is already wheeling and dealing. The Bruins traded their young up and coming forward Ryan Donato and a 5th round pick for Charlie Coyle.
A little bit about Coyle. He is a masshole, born and raised in Weymouth, Massachusetts and also played for Boston Unniversity. Was drafted by the San Jose sharks 28th overall in the 2010 draft. Just a year later he was traded to the Minnesota Wild, where he has played since. Coyle comes to the Bruins with 10 G and 18 A. He is a natural center with some scoring ability and will most likely center on the Bruins third line. This is the most obvious spot for Coyle, as the Bruins have had a hole at Center on the third line since WW2. Trent Frederic has done fine, but hasn’t done anything to keep that spot. Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson couldn’t seize that spot, and neither could Backes.
In my opinion this is just the tip of the iceberg. Coyle is a good addition but isn’t going to put them over the hump. I still think they need Panarin or Stone. I’ll be all over the deadline on Monday.
